NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that the Hertford County Board of Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 7:15 P.M. in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Judicial Center located at 119 Justice Drive, Winton, North Carolina, for the purpose of receiving public comments on the following rezoning requests:
Rezoning Request 1: Danny Nguyen
A request by Danny Nguyen to rezone properties from Residential Agricultural (RA-30) to Light Industrial (IL). The properties are located on NC 305 South, Aulander, NC 27805, approximately one-half mile southeast of the intersection with NC Highway 561 West. The properties are identified in the Hertford County Land Records as all of PIN 5932-98-2150, containing approximately 16.13 acres, and the western portion of PIN 5932-97-7437, containing approximately 3.32 acres.
Rezoning Request 2: Nucor Corporation
A request by Nucor Corporation to rezone six (6) properties from Riverside Residential & Camping (RR&C) to Heavy Industrial (IH). The properties are located approximately 1.75 miles northwest of the intersection of River Road and Pettie Shore Road near Cofield, North Carolina, and extend approximately 1.5 miles along the north side of River Road toward Pettie Shore Road. The total area proposed for rezoning is approximately 752.72 acres. The parcels are identified in the Hertford County Land Records as PINs 6935-27-1488, 6935-28-0667, 6935-29-8522, 6935-47-0774, 6935-67-0034, and 6935-86-0861.
Copies of the proposed rezonings are available for public inspection in the GIS & Planning Department located in the Hertford County Government Center, 115 Justice Drive, Winton, NC, between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. Following the public hearings, the Hertford County Board of Commissioners may approve, approve with modifications, deny, or continue the requested rezonings.
