PUBLIC NOTICE
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
RELATIVE TO APPLICATION BY THE TOWN OF MURFREESBORO
FOR FUNDING UNDER THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974, AS AMENDED
Notice is hereby given that the Town of Murfreesboro will hold a public hearing on September 15, 2026, at 6:00 PM at to solicit public input on local community development and needs in relation to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding for a project in our community. The meeting will be held at Murfreesboro Town Hall, 105 E Broad St., Murfreesboro, NC 27855.
The Town of Murfreesboro anticipates submitting a CDBG application in October 2026 for a new fire truck (ladder truck) with associated equipment. Information on the amount of funding available, the requirements of benefit to low-and-moderate income persons, eligible activities, and plans to minimize displacement and provide displacement assistance as necessary will be available. Citizens will also be given the opportunity to provide oral and written comments on Murfreesboro’s use of CDBG funds. All interested citizens are encouraged to attend.
